Could this be German? No markings. It’s very early and almost primitive. Vintage Paper Mache Bear Hand Puppet Folk Art Mohair Early Puppet. Condition is "Used". I do not know the exact age of this puppet. I believe the sweater is a mohair sweater and it is full of holes due to age. Underneath is a layer of navy blue cotton material. The hands/claws almost feel real. I think they may be real. The ring that weighs the bottom of puppet feels like glass and is black. The head is a heavier composition or paper Mache. It measures approximately 15 inches from top to bottom. Truly a folk art beauty! Will be mailed Priority and fully insured.
