Description
Vintage dolls--a farmhouse couple. Their bodies and face are made from small corn cobs, their arms from pipe cleaners, their facial features are painted. The male doll is wearing blue overalls, a red dotted shirt and large straw hat, and is carrying a long stick. The female doll is wearing a red flower printed dress trimmed in lace with matching bonnet also trimmed with lace. A label is attached to the female--Corncob Doll, Mountain Craft Shop, Proctor, W. VA. The name on the tag is Dick Schnacke, I assume the artist. The dolls can stand on their own for display. These dolls are from my mother's collection. Her notecards indicate she purchased them at the Studebaker Estate sale in November 1995. The dolls were collected by Opal Maschka.
