AMAZING Folk Art Cat Tiger Wood Painted Puppet Carved. 12" across, not counting the tail. Wow, found in an old Connecticut estate where the family lived for generations. The paint is off white with some accents of red. The wood on the cross-shaped handle is very smooth and dark, as if it had been used many, many times. The tail is made of skin with fur on it and underneath is maybe a curved talon or something? I can't tell for sure. You can't see the tail in all the photos, in some it is hidden. As you can see the paint has chipped off somewhat and some of the strings are broken. I'm not sure of the age, but probably pre-1900.
